V-HHBS: How to make sure that the beginning and ending digits on UPC-E are not dropping

Modified on Thu, 12 Jun at 1:41 PM

From the V-HHBS Advanced User Guide:

  1. Enable UPC-E symbology:

    • This is required for the scanner to read UPC-E at all.

    • ✅ Setting: Enabled (default is enabled).

  2. Transmit UPC-E check digit:

    • Ensures the scanner includes the check digit in the output.

    • ✅ You need to enable this if it's currently set to "Don't transmit".

  3. UPC-E output header characters:

    • These include the system digit (typically a leading digit like 0 or 1).

    • ✅ Must be enabled to keep the leading digit.

  4. UPC-E extend to 12 digits:

    • Converts UPC-E to a full 12-digit UPC-A equivalent.

    • Optional, but if you want to ensure all digits appear, enabling this will output the expanded version.
