From the V-HHBS Advanced User Guide:
Enable UPC-E symbology:
This is required for the scanner to read UPC-E at all.
✅ Setting: Enabled (default is enabled).
Transmit UPC-E check digit:
Ensures the scanner includes the check digit in the output.
✅ You need to enable this if it's currently set to "Don't transmit".
UPC-E output header characters:
These include the system digit (typically a leading digit like
0
or1
).✅ Must be enabled to keep the leading digit.
UPC-E extend to 12 digits:
Converts UPC-E to a full 12-digit UPC-A equivalent.
Optional, but if you want to ensure all digits appear, enabling this will output the expanded version.
