Configuring a Windows 11 POS touchscreen terminal to display the number pad as the default keyboard involves tweaking settings to prioritize a numeric layout over the standard QWERTY keyboard. Here's how you can achieve this:

Use Windows Touch Keyboard Settings

1. Enable Touch Keyboard:

   • Go to Settings > Time & language > Typing.
   • Under Touch keyboard, ensure the toggle for "Show the touch keyboard when there's no keyboard attached" is enabled.

2. Configure the Touch Keyboard Layout:

   • In the same section, click on Touch keyboard.
   • Select the Default keyboard layout to include the Small keyboard layout or Large keyboard layout with a numeric pad.

3. Change Keyboard Layout on Demand:

   • When the touch keyboard appears, click the Keyboard icon on the top-left corner of the touch keyboard.
   • From there, select the Numeric pad layout or switch back to a full QWERTY layout as needed.
