Touchscreen Troubleshooting Guide (Tablet PC Settings)
We understand your touchscreen is not working properly in Extended display mode, and the Tablet PC Settings → Setup button is not opening the calibration screen. Please follow the steps below:
1. Open Tablet PC Settings Directly
Press Windows key + R.
Type:
Press Enter.
Try the Setup button again.
2. Restart Tablet Input Services
Press Windows key + R.
Type:
In the list, find Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service (sometimes called TabletInputService).
Right-click → Restart.
Re-try Tablet PC Settings.
3. Check HID Touch Devices
Right-click the Start button → select Device Manager.
Expand Human Interface Devices.
Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen → choose Disable device, then Enable device.
If multiple touch devices are listed, disable the extras one by one (leave only the correct one enabled).
4. Test Calibration from Alternate Menus
Go to Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Pen and Touch.
Or in Windows Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Pen & Windows Ink.
Check if the calibration/setup option works here.
5. Set Display Before Setup
Right-click the desktop → Display settings.
Ensure both monitors are set to Extend.
Temporarily make the secondary monitor the main display.
Try pressing Setup in Tablet PC Settings again.
6. Repair System Files (If Still Not Working)
Right-click Start → select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
Run these commands one at a time:
Restart your PC after both commands finish.
7. Reset Device (If Still Not Working)
If none of above works, it may highly indicate some software is preventing the tool to open. Please reset the terminal (do not keep files) or uninstall the impacting app.
Lastly, a re-imaging of the OS might be needed if none of the above works. Contact support for a re-imaging repair.
