Before You Begin:
Backup important files. This process may erase everything.
Make sure your terminal is plugged in.
Steps:
Open Settings
Press
Windows + I
to open Settings.
Go to Recovery Options
Navigate to:
System ➝ Recovery
Start Reset Process
Under Recovery options, find Reset this PC.
Click “Reset PC”.
Choose Reset Option
In the pop-up window, choose one:
Keep my files (removes apps/settings, keeps personal files)
Remove everything (full factory reset)
Choose Reinstall Method
Select Local reinstall (uses files from your device)
Do not choose Cloud download
Review Settings
On the summary screen, click Change settings if needed:
Confirm Local reinstall
Enable Clean data or Delete files from all drives (if needed)
Start Reset
Click Next, then Reset.
Your PC will restart and begin the reset process.
After Reset:
The process can take 30–60+ minutes depending on options chosen.
After the reset, Windows 11 will boot up and guide you through the initial setup.
